SOME GEEKY NEWS BITS

* WB has stated HAL JORDAN in the upcoming Green Lantern movie will not be super young - instead they want someone in their late-20s or early 30s. Nice.
---
*David Twohy is currently writing RIDDICK 3. I really enjoyed the previous ('Pitch Black' and [director's cut] 'Chronicles of Riddick'), which Twohy wrote as well. They're not great - but fun sci-fi adventure.
---
* The latest casting rumor for Kenneth Branagh's upcoming THOR is True Blood's 6'4" Alexander Skarsgård (Eric) as the Odin Son.
---
* Marvel is going to reboot the FANTASTIC FOUR movie franchise. Not a goddamn single person involved in the previous 2 shit-smears will be involved, and it will have a more serious less-saturday-morning-cartoon tone. Rejoice!

I didn't mind the 2 Fantastic Four films, they were fun, but then I'm not a huge fan of the comics. Seems weird after the box office that they'd reboot these though, I mean it's not like they studio listen to what critics say as long as they're raking in cash, and both films did do OK ! As for Riddick, I didn't mind the 2nd film, though it didn't feel anything like the first, but I'd be happy to see a 3rd film made !!

The GL casting callout was for arrogant hunky guys in their mid 20s.

I'm really excited about the Green Lantern movie. SO excited. I'm just trying to not get my hopes up yet, just in case.

I'm hoping Riddick 3 is more "Pitch Black" than "Chronicles", just because Vin Diesel had less to carry on his own, and he really isn't a great actor.

Oh... True Blood. I know people like that show, but I can't get into it. I find all the characters on it unlikeable. Plus, on Skarsgård's imdb page: "Voted the sexiest man in Sweden in 1999." ....Yeahno. (Don't mind me, I'm just bitter that comics Thor isn't redhaired Norse mythology Thor.)

Is Marvel rebooting because they've got the movie rights back? As in, will it be them remaking it? Because that could be fucking amazing. And as bad as the movies were, I don't object to a Saturday-morning-cartoon feel, I just object to paying for a movie and getting an abortion.

If Fox is producing it will still be a shit smear...

RE: FF....

Marvel now has the rights back to most of their properties - although I believe Sony still has Spider-Man...

so look for more Marvel-produced movies, like Iron Man, Hulk and, um, Punisher War Zone.

No Fox..... unless I'm wrong. But that's what I understand.
